How A UW Department or Unit Provides Interpreting or Captioning

Responsibility and Funding Issues

For academically required requests for enrolled students who are Deaf or hard of hearing, the McBurney Disability Resource Center provides interpreting and captioning.

For non-academically required requests, individual university departments are responsible for arranging and funding interpreting and captioning services.

The two memos below outline the funding responsibilities and the reimbursement procedures for interpreters or captioners.

"How-To" Information

We look forward to being able to assist you in providing equal access at UW-Madison for Deaf and hard of hearing persons.
