Spring 2008 Upcoming Activities:

RSVP by April 22 to Join Accessibility Advocates for a Free Badger Softball Game

You're invited to join Accessibility Advocates at "Friday After Class for Student Organizations" on April 25, 2008 as the University of Wisconsin Softball team battles the 22nd ranked Ohio State Buckeyes.

There will be a tailgating party starting at 5 pm, and the game starts at 6 pm. Madbadgers, with the help of a few student athletes, will be hosting carnival-like games where you can win a variety of prizes (t-shirts, cups, gift cards, etc.). If you don't win a prize during the tailgate, you can always win one during the game as they will be holding multiple contests and giving away movie passes, gift cards to Buffalo Wild Wings and Culvers, a one night free stay at the Doubletree here in Madison, plus many others. Students who attend the game will also receive a pair of Wisconsin Crocs, while supplies last.

Concessions are available for purchase at Goodman Diamond, and according to the Goodman Diamond website, the stadium meets ADA requirements for accessibility.

If you are interested in attending, please send an email to mcburneystudentadvisory@rso.wisc.edu by April 22. Your name will be emailed to the Athletic Department for Accessibility Advocates' group roster which provides free admission to the game.

Friends who might be interested in Accessibility Advocates and who are also current UW-Madison students are also welcome to attend. Accessibility Advocates is a registered student organization open to all UW-Madison students. The group, along with the ASM Diversity Committee, led efforts this past semester to designate funds student organizations could use to provide accommodations for members.

The group plans to meet at the Memorial Union (by the 80 bus stop) at 4:45 pm, and ride the 80 together to Goodman Diamond. Don't forget to bring your UW student ID as well.

This is a great opportunity to check out the organization and have some fun before finals!
